The UK & Ireland Classic Table Tennis Championships will be held on Saturday 8th June 2024 at BATTS, Harlow. The event is open to all players of all nationalities and all standards.  Never tried Classic TT before? - come along and give it a try.

We hope to repeat last year's success when we had players from all over the UK and some from abroad.  We had players who had never played with sandpaper before and players who had played at the World Championships of Ping Pong , all having fun in the main and consolation events. We were delighted when a good number stayed on for Pizza afterwards.

This year we will have Sandpaper and Wood, with Open events and events for Women, 18&Under,  and Over-60.  Sandpaper events will begin with Round Robin Groups of at least 5 players; the Group results will be used to seed the Open Knockout stages.  For non-Open events, depending on numbers and available time, there may be knock out matches, or we might award places based on Group results.  The Wood event might be straight knockout, or may have small RR Groups first, depending on available time.

As well as a fun, social event, we will be awarding Qualifier Spots to the Ping Pong World Championships, January 2025 in Mexico (sorry, we don't have the exact details yet).  The Spots will be awarded, at our discretion, to the best and most deserving players in various events.  Two qualifiers may also receive subsidies of $250 each.

BATTS Table Tennis Centre

BATTS Table Tennis Centre in Harlow, Essex is an excellent facility for Table Tennis with room for 8 tables.  The Centre's facilities comprise the main hall plus changing and shower facilities for men, women and the disabled. It also has a comfortable lounge with viewing window and snack bar.

The Centre is close to the M11, approximately 15km North of the M25 Orbital.  Harlow Mill Railway station, on the line between Liverpool Street Station in London and Stratford, is a 20 minute walk from BATTS. Nearby airports include London Stansted (STN) (15 miles drive, or by bus or train with one change), London Luton (LTN) (45 miles) and London Heathrow (LHR) (54 miles) .  The Centre has parking available.

BATTS is also the source of Sandpaper TT in England, having been the first venue used for WPCC Qualifiers.  We are delighted to be returning there this year.
